With careful planning and the use of dormer extensions and windows where appropriate, the loft can usually be transformed into virtually any type of room you want.
How long will the conversion of my loft take?
The time-scale can vary depending on the complexity of the project and what features are required. As a basic rule we would normally complete a standard one bedroom conversion in 4 – 6 weeks.
What are the different types of loft conversion I could have?
There are 4 main types of loft conversion, Roof Light or Velux Conversion, Mansard, Hip to Gable and Dormer. Please view our‘types of loft’ section to read a detailed description of each.
Will converting my loft cause a lot of mess and disruption to my house?
No. Because we work from the outside in, many of the materials can be fed in through the new loft windows rather then through your house. The main, unavoidable, work to be carried out within your house is the opening out of your stairwell and the installation of the new staircase. We do our utmost to ensure this is carried out with minimal disruption to your household, ensuring that nearby furnishings and fittings are protected with dust sheets.
Can I view any of your completed conversions?
We have an extensive portfolio of completed conversions that we will be happy to show you, some of which can be viewed on the website within the ‘gallery’ section. If convenient with both parties we can arrange a viewing at the home of one of our many satisfied customers.
How much will my loft conversion cost?
This can only be assessed following a full and detailed survey of the site. We will be pleased to arrange a visit and provide you with a “no obligation” quotation. Once our initial quote is accepted Endlebury Home Extensions guarantee that no extra charges will be implemented unless further work is required.
Do I need to seek planning permission and building regulations approval?
You do not require planning permission if the overall size of the house is unchanged, and its height has not increased. We will be able to advise when carrying out our initial ‘no obligation’ survey. You will however require building regulation approval which Endlebury Home Extensions will take care to ensure all necessary paperwork and requirements are met. The cost of this will all be included in our ‘no obligation’ quotation.
Can I still convert my loft if I have a water tank in there at present?
Yes, if the current water tank is likely to interfere with your preferred layout, we will instruct our plumber to disconnect and re-locate the water tank in the void area within your loft space.
